This is the most important and happening day in the entire Mahotsav. The joyous celebrations of Shri Prabhu’ birth anniversary begin in the early hours of the morning. Maniknagar is thronged by lakhs of devotees who stand in queues for hours to have the darshan of the holy Samadhi of Shri Prabhu. The entire area reverberates with the chants of ‘Shri Sadguru Manik Prabhu Maharaj Ki Jai’.
Shri Maharaj Ji performs Rajopachar Mahapooja to the Samadhi of Shri Prabhu in the presence of hundreds of eminent Vedic scholars. The Pooja begins at around 9 P.M. and continues till the early hours of the morning. The Special attraction of the entire ritual is the ‘Janmotsav’ or the symbolic ‘Cradle Ceremony’ of Shri Prabhu which is celebrated with utmost devotion, pomp and pageantry. A Silver Cradle is hung in the outer portion of the Sanctum-Sanctorum. The holy ‘Padukas’ of Shri Prabhu are placed in the cradle and just as one would cuddle and fondle a cute little baby, Shri Maharaj Ji, most respectfully sings the famous cradle song or ‘Lori’ composition of Shri Martand Manik Prabhu Maharaj – ‘Jo Jo Re Prabhu Raya’, as he gives a gentle push backwards and forwards to the silver cradle with the help of a rope tied to it. Thousands of people watch this Maha-Pooja with rapt attention as it unfolds in the most regal and magnificent manner.
‘Anna Daan’ or mass feeding of the poor is the most important part of Shri Prabhu’s Janmotsav, as he always said that by serving the poor and the disadvantaged we actually serve God Himself. Keeping this high moral in mind the Samsthan organizes a mass ANNA DAAN programme in the Temple Kitchen or the ‘Bhadarkhana’ where thousands and thousands of people, irrespective of caste, creed or religion partake of the bliss of MAHA-PRASAD. |
