Shri Sadguru Manik Prabhu Maharaj
Shri Sadguru Manik Prabhu Maharaj was a towering spiritual luminary and yogi of the early nineteenth century, who walked this earth to rekindle the spirit of love and compassion and to free religion from the shackles of sectarian dogmatism. Revered as an incarnation of Bhagwan Shri Dattatreya, Shri Prabhu was not only a profound philosopher and visionary thinker but also a living embodiment of his own teachings.
He propounded the noble philosophy of Sakalamatā Siddhānta—a universal gospel of love, unity, and humanity—rooted deeply in the Upanishadic truth: “Ekam sad viprā bahudhā vadanti” (The Truth is one, the wise speak of it in many ways). Through his life and teachings, he demonstrated the essential oneness of all paths and creeds.
Shri Prabhu attained Sanjīvani Mahā-Samādhi at Maniknagar in the year 1865. The spiritual institution he established in 1845 for the dissemination of his teachings, known today as Shri Manik Prabhu Samsthan, stands as one of the foremost centres of spiritual learning and service in the country.
